Data we collect
When you request a quote or contact us, we collect your name, phone number, email address, and preferred contact method, together with details about the services you need and the property address or general area. We also collect free-text descriptions of the issue, any budget or timing preferences, and any photos or videos you choose to upload to help us assess the job. We keep a record of our communications with you, including emails, messages, and call notes. If you become a customer, we maintain job records, invoices, payment status, warranty or support history, and practical scheduling or access information needed to complete the work. When you use the website, we also receive technical data such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referral URLs, and cookie or analytics events. We do not intend to collect special-category or sensitive data, and we ask that you do not include such information in free-text fields.
How we use your data (quotes workflow)
We use the information you provide to review your request, assess any photos or videos, prepare and send quotes or estimates, and follow up to clarify requirements or remind you about expiring quotes. If you accept a quote, we use your information to schedule visits, assign engineers or subcontractors, carry out the work, and provide warranties or aftercare. We also use your details to respond to enquiries, send service updates and appointment reminders, issue invoices, and process payments. We analyse website and service usage to troubleshoot, improve quality, and protect our systems. With your consent, we may send occasional marketing messages, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Where UK or EEA law applies, our legal bases include the performance of a contract or steps prior to entering into a contract (to provide quotes and services), legitimate interests (to operate, improve, and secure our business in ways that do not override your rights), consent (for marketing and certain cookies), and compliance with legal obligations such as tax and accounting rules.

Privacy Policy - the basics
Having said that, a privacy policy is a statement that discloses some or all of the ways a website collects, uses, discloses, processes, and manages the data of its visitors and customers. It usually also includes a statement regarding the website’s commitment to protecting its visitors’ or customers’ privacy, and an explanation about the different mechanisms the website is implementing in order to protect privacy.
Different jurisdictions have different legal obligations of what must be included in a Privacy Policy. You are responsible to make sure you are following the relevant legislation to your activities and location.
What to include in the Privacy Policy
This document identifies who you are and how to contact you, describes the data you collect when someone requests a quote or uses the site, explains how and why that data is used—including scheduling, invoicing, and follow-ups—sets out your cookie and analytics practices and the choices available to users, states when information is shared with service providers such as payment processors and engineers or subcontractors, explains how long data is kept and how it is secured, outlines users’ rights and how they can exercise them, and explains how you will communicate changes to this policy.
